On December 30th KARO cinemas are set to open in Mesto Vstrechi (Meeting Place) neighborhood centers. In the run up to the holidays, guests of neighborhood centers will be able to visit KARO 5 Mars, KARO 4 Neva, KARO 5 Rassvet and KARO 4 Vysota. The number in the name indicates the number of screens.

All the sites mentioned above are next generation multi-screen multiplexes with modern film screening technologies and sound equipment, soft recliner chairs, a fully automated ticketing system and a u-choose cinema bar with a varied menu, including healthy snacks and kids menu.

Discounts for students and seniors are available in all cinemas, and the KARO Family program has special offers for family visits. There is also the KARONA loyalty program with a number of advantages available to regular visitors.

The opening of these cinemas is truly a long-awaited event for local residents. Within walking distance from home, they can now not only participate in master classes and sports sessions or visit their favorite restaurants and essential goods stores, but also get acquainted with the latest film premieres in a cozy atmosphere.

The option of booking an entire cinema hall is also available on the new venues. It allows ordering a movie from the library and arranging a private screening. The "Hall Keys" service will be available right after the new year’s holidays.

Paul Heth, Executive Chairman and CEO of the KARO Group said:

"The Russian filming market is number 1 in Europe and month after month is breaking pre-pandemic box-office records, which means that moviegoers really value the opportunity to watch releases on the big screen. To make this experience even more enjoyable, we are opening even more venues that meet all the standards of a new generation cinemas".

Grigory Pecherskiy, ADG group managing partner, said:

“Leisure is the central element of the Mesto Vstrechi neighborhood center concept, and I am very glad that today cinema has finally been added to the list of all the entertainment offerings we already have. I am sure that during the upcoming New Year holidays local residents will definitely not be bored, because now everyone can find something they like within walking distance from home: a creative master class or quiz, shopping at the charity fair, start doing sports in a modern fitness club, have a family lunch in one of the restaurants or organize a family visit to the KARO cinema to watch a long-awaited premiere – we are very proud that together with our partner we can give guests the most vivid impressions!"

About the project

We reconstruct over 30 soviet movie theatres in densely populated urban areas of Moscow, transforming them into modern neighbourhood centres — the meeting places for business and customers. We aim at creating a comfortable environment with qualitative shopping and leisure opportunities at the doorstep of 10 million Muscovites, living in between of the Third Ring Road and Moscow Ring Road.
