According to him, upon completion of works the movie theater will be the multifunctional public center.

“The two-storied building of the soviet movie theater will be rebuilt to be the three-storied modern complex with two basement floors that will host a supermarket, a retail gallery with shops and kiosks, cafes and a cinema complex. The facility will also be designed for the development of small business and entrepreneurship” – said S. Kuznetsov

The Moscow City Architecture Committee noted that the building area will be approximately 19 thousand square meters. The facade will be made of ceramic panels of various sizes and textures along with the aluminum ones. Provisions are made for the building illumination during the late evening.

A part of the building facing the streets Muranovskaya and Leskova will have a spectacular glazed console, which will protect the main entrance from rain and snow. All retail spaces, cafes and cinema will be made available for handicapped people.

Creation of such cultural centers in districts, their functionality and programming are the principle task of today. This will not only contribute to decrease the traffic to the center, but, most importantly, makes this districts identical” – stressed the main architect.

About the project

We reconstruct over 30 soviet movie theatres in densely populated urban areas of Moscow, transforming them into modern neighbourhood centres — the meeting places for business and customers. We aim at creating a comfortable environment with qualitative shopping and leisure opportunities at the doorstep of 10 million Muscovites, living in between of the Third Ring Road and Moscow Ring Road.
